Advanced Diagnostic Equipment Speeds Treatment

Boy and Dog

A veterinarian cannot always tell what is going on with a sick pet by an external exam. When your pet is not well, we need to find out what is happening on the inside. Labs and diagnostic equipment help us identify the problem so that we can develop a successful treatment plan.

At Flowers Mill Veterinary Hospital, we employ the following diagnostic tools and equipment:

  • In-hospital blood and other laboratory testing
  • EKGs
  • Monitors, used particularly in surgery and for monitoring anesthesia
  • Drills, scalers, and other pet dental equipment
  • Digital x-rays, both general and dental

Digital Imaging Speeds Relief to Your Pet

We are particularly proud of our digital imaging equipment, which provides clearer images. Digital images can be enlarged and manipulated, providing detailed information. Our veterinary team can view the images in ways that are not possible with film x-ray. Greater information leads to faster diagnosis and more immediate treatment—speeding relief to your pet.

Less Stress for Your Pet

Digital x-rays are also quicker, which mean less time on the table and less stress for your pet. We can capture x-ray images of your pet’s affected area in under a minute. Since the images are digital, they can be emailed and sent electronically, if second opinions are warranted.

Digital imaging is ideal for diagnosing a wide variety of conditions, including:

  • Bone fractures
  • Tumors
  • Cancer
  • Orthopedic diseases
  • Gastrointestinal diseases
  • Heart and lung issues
  • Reproductive issues

"I have come to trust Dr. Widenmeyer’s instincts‚ his treatments‚ his honesty‚ and his genuine concern for my dogs. His expertise has given me additional years with the pets we weren’t certain were even going to make it through their ordeal. The whole staff makes the experience feel like family. I want to use this opportunity to say a BIG thank you to all the people at Flowers Mill that have helped me keep my “furry kids” happy and healthy all these years."
